An Unregistered Vehicle Inspection report (blue slip) verifies that an unregistered vehicle is safe, and it meets design and identity standards. All unregistered light vehicles need a blue slip inspection before they can be registered in NSW.

Unregistered Vehicle Inspections
An Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Scheme (AUVIS) inspection or what is known as a blue slip inspection, ensures vehicles meet safety requirements and design and identity standards. Not every workshop or motor mechanic can issue a blue slip or perform a Blue Slip Inspection on a vehicle.
A Blue Slip inspection can only be carried out by an authorised vehicle examiner who must be accredited by Transport for NSW under the Authorised Inspection Scheme to inspect vehicles.
Randwick Car Care is such a workshop and this can be verified by an Authorised Safety Check signage which is clearly displayed on the exterior of our service centre.
You must get an AUVIS inspection if your vehicle:
AUVIS (blue slip) inspection reports is valid for 42 days from the date of inspection. If the vehicle is imported, you need to provide us with a Vehicle Import Approval issued for the vehicle by the correct Australian Government Department’s

A Pink Slip is a safety inspection that vehicles over 5 years of age must undergo to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy. A Blue Slip is an inspection that all unregistered vehicles must undergo before purchasing a Green Slip and Registration
A Blue Slip inspection can only be carried out by an authorised vehicle examiner who is accredited by Transport for NSW such as Randwick Car Care.
You can only drive an unregistered vehicle to the nearest convenient service centre if you’re getting or renewing your registration or have an unregistered vehicle permit.
